Jacket for Life Award - 2022

Since 1995, 38 people have been recognized as Jacket for Life Award recipients for embodying the spirit of Jacket Pride.  This year’s recipient, or rather recipients, are no different.

He is a 1979 graduate of Llano High School. She is a 1981 graduate of LHS and was on the 1981 state 1600-meter relay team that was inducted into the LHS Hall of Fame in 2019.  After graduating, he went on to serve in the United States Army.  She went to college and became a teacher.  The couple got married in 1984 and have a daughter, Kathryn, who is also a Llano Graduate.

He is a retired Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant.  He served on the Llano ISD school board from 2012 through 2018 when he was elected Llano County Judge. She taught for over 20 years, 12 years with Llano ISD until retiring in August 2021.  During her tenure, she received the Llano Elementary Educator of the Year Award.

The couple are active members in the Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church. He is the Llano County Judge and a member of the board of directors of the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center; She is a member of the Llano County Child Welfare Board. These are just a few examples of ways they continue to serve the Llano Community.
